My Purpose

My purpose is to use my voice, shaped by lived experience, to provide perspective, provoke thought, and guide people toward meaningful action in their lives.

Through sharing my story and walking alongside others in theirs, this work is about helping people slow down, see more clearly, and learn how to take small, intentional steps that lead to lasting growth and transformation in a fast-paced, transactional world.

I believe people grow best in community. Families, teams, organizations, and workplaces are made up of individuals who each bring their own experiences, struggles, gifts, and circumstances. When those stories go unseen or unaddressed, people suffer and systems fall into cycles of striving without fulfillment.

This work exists to help individuals and organizations return to the fundamentals, build from a stronger foundation, and live and work with greater purpose and intentionality.

Call To Action

My Mission

My mission is to love and serve the Lord, and to love and serve others through the way I lead myself and show up each day.

Through speaking, coaching, conversation, and community, I guide individuals and organizations toward making a true leadership commitment, one that is rooted in self awareness, strengthened through self leadership, and lived out through service to others.

This mission is carried out by helping people become more purposeful with how they invest their time, effort, and energy, so leadership is not just something they pursue, but something they live with intention, creating consistent positive habits.

My Vision

My visionĀ is to reach and impact as many people as possible by helping them recognize that leadership starts with them.

Whether working with individuals or organizations, the vision is for people to continually work on their identity, discover their gifts, and learn how to use their story as a source of strength and direction rather than something to escape or overcome.

Over time, this work aims to develop leaders who live with purpose, invest intentionally in their time, effort, and energy, and give their gifts away every day, positively shaping families, teams, organizations, and communities through consistent leadership.

About Me

I am a leadership and development coach, speaker, and author who works with individuals and organizations committed to taking leadership seriously (self awareness, self leadership, servant leadership).

My work is shaped by lived experience. At age 13, I suffered a traumatic brain injury that fundamentally altered my life and forced me to learn how to navigate pain, limitation, and uncertainty at a young age. Those experiences became the foundation for how I understand leadership, resilience, identity, and growth, not as theory, but as something lived day by day.

I use my framework,Ā The Leadership Commitment,Ā to guide individuals and organizations in building strong internal leadership, beginning with the individual and extending to teams and the organization as a whole. My focus is on helping people return to the fundamentals, lead themselves well, and develop habits and systems that support consistent performance, fulfillment, and healthy culture.

I was born and raised in Hannibal. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Education degree in Athletic Administration. I spent twelve years in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator. In 2018, I was honored with the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from Hannibal-LaGrange University in recognition of my work with young people and service to the community.

In 2018, I founded Stourney LLC, a company built on the belief that sharing stories can improve journeys. In 2021, I launched Mindset Sports, a coaching company for athletes. In 2024, I founded The Leadership Commitment and rebranded Mindset Sports as the Leadership Sports Academy, expanding my work into leadership development across individuals, athletics, and organizations. I also contract with leadership organizations across the United States.

I married my wife, Gala, in 2008. We have three children, Alice, Aubrie, and Quinn. My greatest joys include practicing my faith, loving my family and contributing to strong, healthy communities.

And I love building relationships that last a lifetime...
